Life in New Zealand

Once you arrive in New Zealand you will begin to quickly appreciate that although it isn't a large country, it has enormous variety both in terms of the stunning scenery and extensive attractions it has to offer.

Climb glaciers, walk on the slopes of active volcanoes, swim with dolphins, trek through lush rainforests in one of the many national parks, fish in clear mountain streams or maybe even mountain bike through deserted gold fields.   For the more daring there's bungee jumping, white water rafting, tandem skydiving, canyoning, surfing, ice climbing, skiing, snowboarding, kayaking and even diving with sharks!

New Zealand's capital city is Wellington, situated at the lower end of the North Island.   Auckland however has the largest population (1 million) accounting for nearly a third of the entire population of the country. The major cities have their own character especially with regards to nightlife and other cultural activities.
